Treatment Philosophy:
I am a board certified psychiatrist dedicated to providing compassionate, inclusive, and trauma-informed care. My practice is rooted in principles of anti-racism and actively challenges systems of oppression, including anti-LGBTQIA+ discrimination and all other forms of marginalization. I believe that mental health care should empower individuals by validating their lived experiences and understanding how these intersect with larger systemic issues. I am committed to creating a safe, supportive environment where people from all backgrounds can feel seen and heard. My goal is to collaborate with you to support your healing and growth, recognizing the resilience and strength you bring to this journey.
Approach:
I offer psychiatric medication management, psychotherapy and comprehensive psychiatric evaluations. My psychotherapeutic style is eclectic, drawing from a range of effective modalities including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and motivational interviewing, alongside principles of Nonviolent Communication. I believe deeply in the power of holistic approaches to support mental well-being. Exercise, nourishing food, and connection with community are essential components of healing.
If you are seeking ongoing psychiatric care, we will meet for 1-3 initial consultation visits to assess if we are a good fit for one another. If we mutually decide to move forward with ongoing care, we will collaborate to find an appointment schedule that meets your needs.
Care is offered through a HIPAA compliant video platform that can be done from the comfort of your own home. Please note you must be located in Oregon at the time of your visit.
I do not conduct psychiatric evaluations for purposes other than mental health treatment (i.e. evaluations required for an employer or school, legal proceedings, disability benefits, or medical clearance).
New Patient Request:
To request a new patient appointment, please select "Request Consultation" and fill out the patient inquiry form. If I am able to offer you care, I will notify you within 30 days by email so that we can find a time to schedule a visit. If you are seeking urgent or emergent care, please proceed to the nearest urgent care or emergency room (including Unity Psychiatric Emergency Services ER https://unityhealthcenter.org/), call 911 or 988. Please note that completion of this interest form does not establish a patient-provider relationship.
Why Stonecrop?
Oregon Stonecrop or Sedum oreganum is a resilient succulent native to the Pacific Northwest, where it flourishes in some of the harshest conditions. It can often be found growing in the cracks of mountain rocks or gravel from sea level up to 5000 feet. This remarkable ability to thrive in challenging environments mirrors the human capacity to persevere, adapt, and overcome life’s difficulties. Its stout, water-storing leaves symbolize resourcefulness and self-sufficiency, reminding us of the importance of nurturing ourselves during tough times. In various cultures, stonecrop is associated with protection and healing, reflecting both its historical use in herbal remedies and its symbolic role in warding off negativity. With its vibrant, star-shaped flowers, the plant embodies hope and vitality, representing a harmonious balance between resilience and grace.
